Since there were only a few comments, I ignored them because I have used this product for many years and have always thought it did a good job of thickening my hair as well as being a good shampoo and conditioner. While the conditioner (scalp therapy) is relatively unchanged, I find the new formula shampoo to be unusable. I gave it a good effort for just over a week, thinking that the system would work. As another reviewer mentions, it has a tremendous drying effect on the hair, so much so that the conditioner almost has no impact after the shampoo's use. The hair turns out noticeably harder, frizzy and generally unmanageable. The shampoo hit the garbage can today. Since Procter & Gamble moved production to Mexico, the product doesn't seem to be nearly as good as it used to be. The Scalp Therapy used to really tingle on my scalp and now it doesn't do anything other than just sit there. Apparently, they closed down the U.S. manufacturing plant and started producing Nioxin in Mexico. It appears to me they may have also changed the formula. Either way, I don't perceive the same thickening effect it used to have. This product is not for every hair type. Although I utilized Nioxin's hair evaluation tool to select my system, it proved to be NOT a good product ... at least for my hair. My shiny hair with a natural, but admittedly strong wave pattern, turned to dull, friz and fuzz. My hair texture also changed to rough and dry, in both appearance and feel. Even topical hair moisturizers did little to help. My hair did, however, appear to be fuller (but only because it was fuzzy). Also, in an effort to return the product, I was not happy with Costsell's customer service at all! Nor what I consider to be "dismissive" responses, all done via email. Eventually, after being just as persistent with my replies, I was directed to contact the manufacturer for a refund; however, that in itself was a nightmare! Perservence, and multiple online searches, eventually lead me through a maze of possibilities to eventually contact the actual manufacturer.
